Taking care of your Fugugemz pieces

Caring for Your Jewelry

Your handcrafted jewellery is designed to be cherished. With a little love and care, your unique piece will stay beautiful for years to come. Please follow these simple guidelines to keep it looking its best.

Daily Wear & General Advice

The golden rule is "Last On, First Off." Your jewellery should be the last thing you put on after getting ready and the first thing you take off at the end of the day.

To protect your jewellery, please avoid:

  • Contact with chemicals: Remove pieces before applying lotions, perfumes, hairspray, or makeup.

  • Water exposure: Take off all jewellery before showering, swimming, or washing your hands. Chlorine and saltwater can be particularly damaging.

  • Strenuous activity: Remove your pieces before exercising, cleaning, or doing any heavy lifting to prevent scratches, impacts, and damage.

Cleaning Your Pieces

  • Regular Wiping: After each wear, gently wipe your jewelry with a soft, lint-free cloth. This will remove natural skin oils and dust.

  • Deeper Cleaning: For a more thorough clean, you can use a drop of mild, pH-neutral soap mixed with warm water. Gently lather and use your fingers or a very soft-bristled brush to clean the piece. Rinse thoroughly with clean water and pat dry completely with a soft cloth.

  • A Note on Natural Elements: Be extra gentle with natural stones, pearls, wood, and other organic materials. Avoid harsh chemical cleaners and ultrasonic devices, as these can cause irreparable damage.

Proper Storage

  • Prevent Scratches: Store each piece of jewellery separately in a soft pouch or a lined jewellery box to prevent items from scratching one another.

  • Avoid Tarnishing: Keep your jewellery in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. For sterling silver, storing it in an airtight bag can dramatically slow the natural tarnishing process.

By following these simple steps, you can ensure your treasured pieces remain as beautiful as the day you received them.
